This greasy spoon lives up to the name in every conceivable way. Food selection is pretty typical with a couple novel items, prices are on par with expectations. It's a little dark (very dark in the lounge), but not a deal breaker. Go if you're in the area, but not out of your way.

Fantastic steaks and burgers and the most amazing chocolate cream pie. Friendly staff with good service.

Nice place to stop and have a good meal. We had the burger and chicken friend steak breakfast. Everything was hot and delicious. We will be back for sure. Plenty of on street RV parking.

This is the usual stop when going through Caliente, nv. The food is very good and fresh. People are nice and it has a casino & bar attached to the restaurant. I had the club sandwich and took half of it home.

The town of Caliente is amazing. We were racing in a SNORE desert race, and the town opened its arms. The Knotty Pine Restaurant was the hub...opening early and staying open late, and serving great meals. Chicken fried steak was amazing. Great people...made our weekend.

It Depends on what you order for Breakfast, Order pancakes French Toast, I had eggs bacon sausage hash browns. It was awful hash browns were not cooked part of my eggs were raw.

Stopped on the way home from Eagle Valley Resort for lunch, the service was Great!, the Philly Cheese Steak, and the French Dip were superb!. Everyone needs to eat here when going through Caliente 😁

Very small town atmosphere with great food.

We drove for hours before finally finding a good place to eat! We were so happy to find this place. The staff was friendly and they served our food quickly. The place has a very laid back feel and the burgers we had were good. The view out of the windows is so beautiful too! I am glad we got to eat here! :)

Old place great food.

We had a dog with us so we couldn't eat inside. I went in and ordered a pizza. The very nice waitress said, is that your Jeep out front, I will bring it out when it is ready. I asked to pay for it and she said she would collect it then. The pizza was very good but the service and friendliness was amazing.

Great food and prices, very friendly staff. Also has a full-service bar where you can shoot pool, play a slot machine or just hang out. Bar Side is open much later than the restaurant and the rest of the town overall. Bartenders are friendly and bar has a big variety of beer and other liquor at a very reasonable price. A wide variety of music is played and a lot of times you can find a DJ there on the weekends. A great place to hang your hat for a while!

Stopped for a lunch break on the long journey back to Oregon. The cafe food was filling and fresh. The prices were very reasonable. I thought their tee shirts were cute. There was a nice rifle being raffled off. We found out the raffles are a regular occurance and you do not have to be present to win. We will stop in on another travel time!

A bit dated, but fresh was the food. Experience real Caliente and an all American menu.

The "Knotty" is a full service bar and a full service restaurant. It is the only establishment in Caliente that offers both. If you are taking the family out to eat, you can order drinks, from the bar, to be brought to your table. And if you are in the bar, you can order food to be brought to your table. Having the option to go eat at the restaurant first and then going to bar to have drinks or visa-versa is real nice.

Good old-fashioned restaurant in a town that takes you back a few years. Delicious food, great service, and a reasonable price. The grilled turkey bacon melt filled me up perfectly.

I always enjoy the food. The Grizz breakfast always hit the spot. I recommend giving yourself extra time if you arrive with a large group as they struggled to clear 2 tables. Admittedly is was at a very busy hour. But they did manage to get us seated after about a 30 minute wait. The service was terrific after we got situated. They definitely deserve 5 stars!

I love this place.. Been here once before when I was in my early 20's.. Food was good back then and the food is still good now. Friendly staff and always polite to everyone that walks in. Its a must stop for anybody just cruising through or for people that want some cheap eats.

Top notch service! Good pizza. Fun "casino" and great bartender. Casino in quotes because there's only about 10-12 machines in the lounge, which was perfect for us. Would love to return someday.

I had a such a fun time here! The people were so nice,the music was good and the bartender mattie was awesome! They had pool tables and a small cornhole game that were super fun!

This local diner has an attached lounge with a small row of video poker machines. The gaming machines are multi-game which also have keno and slots from 1 to 25 cents. The food is really good and the server is friendly and quick. I like the Knotty Pine for a tasty meal anytime I'm in town.

Pretty good food. We had veggie burger and fish dinner. Large portions and good prices. Wish the waitress had a mask on. Pretty uncomfortable with her standing very close to our table without one on. None of the waitresses had gloves on either. They offer free masks to diners so wish they would ALL wear them. They are using every other table and booth.

Great Country fried steak and eggs, excellent gravy, very good and fast service, Liver and onions were excellent also, great portions, cooked just right..

Small town vibe, breakfast was good, friendly staff, my kind of small town place.

We were Traveling and got stuck in Ely on a Sunday. Had to wait until Monday morning to buy a new tire. We found this restaurant in a Bar and Grill. Super Happy with the food, gracious Staff and very clean environment. Whole love to go back. It's a Small comfortable , home feeling Place would recommend to all Adults. Children are welcome with an Adult.

Great service, good food, and friendly staff.

Loved this place. The service was a little slow but that was to be expected considering that they were feeding so many firefighters that were there keeping the town safe. They were all friendly and as accommodating as they cool possibly be. GREAT JOB KNOTTY GIRLS!

Fast friendly service, good value, and a nice selection. Enjoyed the history of the area on display in the restaurant.
